The film, titled Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), is directed by James Cameron as well as the ‘Bad Guy’ singer, and is set to hit cinemas on May 8.

When announcing it last year, she told fans the tour in support of her acclaimed album, ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft‘, was one of her favourite ever, and that being able to capture it alongside the Avatar filmmaker was a “dream come true”.

Speaking to Capital at the London premiere of the film, Eilish outlined her ideal cinema etiquette, urging fans to soak in the immersive elements and act as though it were a concert. “I want singing along, I want screaming, I want standing up, I want running around,” she said. “I’m sorry to the theatres.”

She explained that she was excited to see her fans react like that because she’s seen them do it after screening albums in theatres. “My favourite part of that was, I would see these videos, they would all go to the front – you know, in movie theatres they have that front area? And they would just mosh and like jump around and run around.”

Several clips circulating on social media show fans at early showings gathered by the screen and dutifully dancing along to the concert film, with many brandishing their phone flashlights as they would at a gig – check out clips below.

When Eilish last visited the UK, we reviewed her show and gave it five stars, calling it “another sublime stint from an eternal star”: “It’s the perfect example of how Eilish has grown in the last three years and since the start of her career – always an artist who’s been able to write killer songs, but one who consistently finds a way to level up and tap deeper into universal emotions.

“Her latest O2 residency may be over now, but next time we see Eilish in London, we bet it’ll be with shows – and songs – that take her to even greater heights.”

Back in March, reports emerged that Eilish could be returning to the big screen, this time making her acting debut in an adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s classic novel The Bell Jar helmed by Women Talking’s Sarah Polley.

The singer was reportedly entering into advanced talks to take on the lead role in the project. She previously acted in 2023 TV series Swarm, co-created by Donald Glover.

“I used to say that I hated acting,” Eilish once said in a Saturday Night Live monologue. “But the truth is, when I was little I loved it! My mom and dad were both actors. So is my brother, Finneas. And it was my dream to be in a movie.”

Elsewhere, fans attending screenings of the new Michael Jackson biopic have similarly taken to dancing in the aisles – a trend that is dividing cinema-goers.

Directed by David Frankel, the comedy sequel picks up as Andy Sachs returns to Runway magazine as a senior editor, alongside Miranda and Nigel Kipling. Her former colleague Emily, meanwhile, is now an executive at Dior.

At the time of writing (May 1), there are no confirmed plans for a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Anne Hathaway suggested the box office success of the film will determine whether they’ll return for another instalment.

“I hope so, I feel like there’s more road to explore,” Hathaway said. “But, we’ll probably have a better idea of that [when the film comes out].”

What have the cast and creators said about a third film?

Director David Frankel said he believes these characters ‘might live on’ beyond The Devil Wears Prada 2. “Let’s see what happens,” he told EW. “It’s show business. It’s anybody’s guess. We said no 20 years ago, and here we are.

“I don’t want to say yes now. They are very rich characters, they’re amazing actors, there’s great screenwriting, so I could imagine that these characters might live on.”

Elsewhere, Emily Blunt hopes any potential third film will give her and Stanley Tucci “more to do together”, admitting that they wanted a “little more to chew on together” in the sequel.

Though Abela received some praise for her performance, the film was widely panned and holds a 35 per cent ‘rotten’ rating on reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

“I personally enjoyed it,” said Doherty at the Luxembourg City Film Festival in March, where he was serving for the first time as a member of the International Jury. “I thought she captured it all. I mean, Amy had a very distinctive way of moving, of talking, almost impossible to recreate. I thought [Abela] did it really well, but also it’s the little things, the music that she was playing in her flat, the music that was on the jukebox when they’re in the pub, the characters in the pub. It was just spot on with all these little details.”

“I thought the people that panned it, because it got a proper critical hammering, I thought it was a bit unfair, to be honest,” the singer-songwriter continued. ”It’s a cruel, merciless world out there with the film critics.”

Most importantly, Doherty said he thought Back To Black’s subject would’ve approved. “I think Amy would have liked it,” he said. “It was basically a love story, wasn’t it? It wasn’t so much about her dad, and everyone goes on and on about her dad. It was about her and Blake and when they fell in love. I thought they captured the ‘them against the world’ bit well. I thought the voice was her voice.”

Doherty also spoke warmly of his relationship with cinema, from the fun of hearing his tunes in films like Steve Jobs and Children Of Men to the many works of kitchen sink social realism that have inspired his songwriting over the years. “Yeah, there’s been lots of borrowing,” Doherty went on. “The song ‘Lust Of The Libertines’, that’s got [1960s New Wave films] Kind Of Loving, Poor Cow and Family Way in it. That’s three films in one chorus. It [came out of my] interest with that era, or just England, or just Britain, that borders on obsession.”

The Libertines and Babyshambles frontman has made his own attempts at acting, including starring opposite Charlotte Gainsbourg in Sylvie Verheyde’s stylish 2012 romance Confession Of A Child Of The Century. However, after admitting to mistaking the two-time Palme d’Or-winning director Michael Haneke for a Jewish holiday during one of the festival’s jury deliberations, Doherty conceded that his viewing habits rarely leave the artform’s earliest decades.

“I don’t tend to watch a lot of modern films. It’s a bit blind really, because there’s so much talent out there. My missus [filmmaker Katia De Vidas] loves to go to the cinema, films are her life, but I just sort of watch the same over and over again. Sunset Boulevard and Casablanca. The Maltese Falcon. It’s like an opiated sort of thing, like a comfort blanket. The first I ever watched as a kid were the Marx Brothers films. My dad used to love them. I still don’t think there’s a film universe that I’d rather be in than the Marx Brothers’,” Doherty remembered, before rummaging in his pocket for a fake moustache and launching into a decent Groucho impersonation. “It’s pure punk rock,” he concluded, “pure anarchy.”

Since the festival wrapped up in March, the singer has been playing solo shows across Europe as he gears up for a series of festival dates with The Libertines over the summer. Last week, Babyshambles announce a huge Margate show as their only UK gig of 2026.

“A Beano is guaranteed for all. Kiss me quick – sun, sea, sand on a Bank Holiday Weekend …does it get any better? …no,” said Doherty in a statement.

Receiving the award, which was the final honour of the night, each member spoke of the struggles of being both an Asian performer and a woman in an industry that limits their opportunities.

Member EJAE began by saying: “As an Asian woman, the lack of representation was obvious to me” she told the crowd, referring to her childhood growing up in the US. “I rarely saw other artists who looked like me on western stages,” so she aspired toward “becoming a K-pop idol. When that didn’t work out, I thought I was done.”

“But when I found songwriting, I realised that music itself never questioned me, because music doesn’t see race or gender. It only asks for the truth. And when I brought my full truth into it — my voice, my Koreanness, my womanness —everything began to shift. I realised that as a woman, our power has never been in fitting in, but is in our resilience to speak our truth.

“So I just want to say to every woman who may feel unseen, your voice is something to honour. Your story is not something to dilute. It’s something to amplify. And your identity is not a barrier, it’s your power.”

Rei Ami followed with a blunt criticism of the music industry. “Being a woman in this male-dominated industry is honestly ass. Sometimes we have to work twice as hard with a smile on our faces as the world nitpicks every part of our being” she said.

“First, we’re too skinny and then we’re too fat. It goes from, ‘Oh, she’s giving nothing’ to ‘Why is she being so extra?’ It seems utterly impossible to exist. Oh, and God forbid you’re confident, they’ll crucify you for that. But I think that’s why they’re so obsessed, because, well, there’s nothing more intimidating than a confident woman who knows what she wants.

“Our ability to persevere and show up is an absolute superpower. So thank you to all the women in this room for using their superpowers to inspire, lead and protect. We are not too much; we are not too loud. We are exactly who the fuck we think we are.”

Finally, Audrey Nuna became visibly emotional, joking: “I’ve been known to be the emotionally constipated one out of this group… They have never seen me cry in real life, so it’s not gonna happen tonight.”

Her bandmates replied: “Yes it is!” Nuna continued: “From when I first started releasing music back in 2019 to this moment now, I really never identified with the boxes that Korean American women were expected to fit into. And quite frankly, I didn’t even know how to even begin to try to fit into those boxes.”

“So to receive this honour and represent a song in a film that affirms this notion that the world needs women to show up as their fullest, most whole selves, their weirdest selves, their smelliest selves, whatever it is, it’s rewarding beyond words.”

“I think we all grow up being fed ideas of what our role is supposed to be as a woman in this world,” Nuna concluded. “And something that navigating this industry in particular has shown me first-hand is that women are natural-born leaders — and they’re the best at it. Sorry, I’m just gonna say it. And when women genuinely support one another from the heart deep in their core.”

EJAE, Ami, and Nuna all recently appeared alongside KATSEYE on stage at Coachella, to perform the KPop Demon Hunters hit ‘Golden’.

The actor, is the star of the Ant-Man films, as well as appearing in Avengers: Endgame. She took to Instagram to record a video sharing her thoughts on the news that Disney will be laying off 1,000 employees across all divisions, including 15 from Marvel Studios (per Variety), largely from the visual development team.

Among them was Andy Park, a friend of the actor’s who served as Marvel’s director of visual development, and was with the company for 16 years.

This has led to speculation the company may be pivoting to AI for its special effects, although Marvel have made no official announcement confirming this.

The video, posted yesterday (Thursday April 30), shows Lilly playing a video reporting the redundancies, before saying: “I reached out to my good friend Andy Park, who was the genius behind creating the original Wasp super-suit and concept drawings, and I said, ‘Is this true? Is this really what’s happening?’ He said, ‘Yeah, it’s true.’”

She continued: “I can’t quite believe that… that Disney has let go of the artists who brought the Marvel Universe to life through their genius and that the people who invented these characters and who designed them are being replaced by AI. AI that will take their designs and take what they created and use it to create iterations of that. I am so sorry, Andy. I am so sorry to every one of the artists who were let go.”

Lilly also wrote in her Instagram caption: “Disney, SHAME ON YOU for turning your back on the people who built the power you are now using to throw them away,” before questioning the laws surrounding replacing human workers with AI.

“Where are the laws that REMOVE all human art from the AI bank?!?” she asked. “Why do they get to steal our brilliance and use it to make executives rich while the artists responsible for feeding their robots go hungry?? Disgusting. California lawmakers…where are you?!?!?”

The official reason for the redundancies is Marvel’s change in release strategy, which will reduce the overall output of movies and TV shows. At its peak, the Marvel Cinematic Universe released four films a year, but has only released three in the last two years as part of a plan to reduce audience fatigue with the genre.

Recently, one of the MCU’s biggest stars, Ryan Reynolds, suggested his character Deadpool is unlikely to get another solo film.

Swifties went into overdrive after a countdown briefly appeared on the pop star’s official website, set to end on May 2nd at 2pm ET. Although it disappeared soon after going up, fans managed to grab screenshots and share them on social media to speculate what could be coming.

Many took note of the colour scheme of the website and its inclusion of Toy Story-esque clouds, leading many to believe she might have a new song on its soundtrack. Others dissected her recent outfits, pointing to a recent one with similar colours to the palette seen in the film – sky blue, white, yellow, and red – as well as a horseshoe necklace many took as a nod to the beloved films.

The countdown was taken down quickly, and her homepage has currently reverted to promote her latest album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl‘. During the rollout of that record, Swift regularly had countdowns on the site that typically ended with her releasing a limited-edition vinyl.

Some have even theorised that the teasers can be found in the video for ‘Opalite’, which boasted a star-studded cast including TV host Graham Norton, Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lewis Capaldi, and Cillian Murphy.

Just days after she shared an extended cut of the ’90s infomercial inspired music video, a new trailer for Toy Story 5 was shared. The movie, produced by Pixar for Walt Disney Pictures, is set to be released on June 19, comes seven years after Toy Story 4 and four after spin-off Lightyear, which traced Buzz’s backstory.

Elsewhere, The New York Times published a 30-minute interview with Swift earlier this week, where she addressed rumours surrounding a supposed feud with Jack Antonoff, offering some insight into their working relationship.

The megastar has worked with the Bleachers frontman on several albums dating back to 2014 smash hit ‘1989’, with their last collaboration being 2024’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. However, Swift worked with producers Max Martin and Shellback on her 2025 album, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, prompting speculation of a falling out between the pair.

“Jack Antonoff is a collaborator of mine and one of my best friends,” she said, before detailing their process together.

While the core cast returns, a key omission is Adrian Grenier’s Nate, who was Andy’s boyfriend in the original film. At the end of The Devil Wears Prada, Andy and Nate go their separate ways as the latter moves to Boston to become a sous-chef.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 was released in UK cinemas on May 1, 2026.

Why doesn’t Nate appear in The Devil Wears Prada 2?

While Nate doesn’t appear in The Devil Wears Prada sequel, director David Frankel wanted the character to make a cameo, but production schedules got in the way.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Frankel said: “I had an idea about sneaking him into a cameo, and, in the end, it was just too late in our production schedule to make it happen.”

What has Adrian Grenier said about Nate’s absence?

While Adrian Grenier has expressed his ‘disappointment’ at not being asked back for The Devil Wears Prada 2, he acknowledged the character is a controversial figure due to his toxic relationship with Andy.

Speaking to Page Six, Grenier said: “We’re all fans of the movie, whether or not we were in it. Obviously, it was a disappointment that I didn’t get the call to be in the sequel. But I also understand there was some backlash with Nate, the character, so that might have something to do with it.”

In fact, Grenier poked fun at his omission in a Starbucks advert earlier this year. In the clip, where he’s seen talking about Nate’s absence to a barista, he remarks: “Ok, so he wasn’t perfect. So let’s leave Nate in 2006 and keep this good energy going.”

The two were first rumoured to be dating in September 2023, then made their first public appearance together at the Grammys after-party the following February. From there, they attended the MET Gala together, Carpenter made a nod to his infamous Saltburn scene at Coachella 2024, and the Banshees of Inisherin actor also starred in the music video for her hit song ‘Please Please Please’.

They were rumoured to have split in December 2024 amid rumours of cheating, and the actor later took to social media to call out some of the “disgusting” behaviour he faced from fans, saying his name had “been dragged across the internet”.

Now, after taking a brief step back from the public eye, he has taken part in a new interview and hit out at the rumours that he was unfaithful during their time together.

Speaking to Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky, and Kristin Batalucco on their Friends Keep Secrets video podcast, the actor called the videos spreading rumours “absolutely disgusting and vile”, and added that it had created an environment that was “very unfair”.

Explaining how it made him want to “disappear”, he said: “I have been avoiding stuff. I came off Instagram and social profiles. I stopped going to events. I’ve stopped just socialising.”

“It’s because there was a narrative out there that was never really even spoken on, a narrative that’s not true, and I never confirmed or said anything about it. I just disappeared,” he added, before one of the hosts asked him to clarify what exactly he was referring to.

“It’s that I cheated. I don’t want to ever bring anyone else into it, but unfortunately, having a relationship in the public eye, it’s – we all know this from our own stories – it gets put out there,” he replied, not explicitly naming Carpenter as the partner in question.

“I don’t want to bring anyone else into it,” he continued. “I’m not asking for people to become my fan and like me, because that’s not normal either, but I’m asking for people to stop assuming and to stop jumping on this narrative, attacking me, and dragging me down in any way you can.”

The 33-year-old Oscar nominee has a three-year-old son with a former partner and has spoken openly in the past about his challenging childhood, which saw him grow up in foster care. His mother died when he was 12 after struggling with drug addiction.

“[It’s] just absolutely disgusting and vile,” he said, referring to videos he sees online “involving my parents” and saying that they “hate him”.

“Because for someone who went through a lot – and I’m not saying this for a pity card – but why is it cool to hop on and beat somebody who’s come from a lot?,” he said.

“Stuff I’ve seen as a kid… and shit that I have to fight every day and do a lot of therapy. I went through addiction myself and [I am] in sobriety and battle all of that. To then want to drag that person…”

The actor also seemingly spoke about how Carpenter alluded to their split in her seventh studio album ‘Man’s Best Friend‘. The lead single from that album ‘Manchild’, for example, saw Carpenter call out inept men, leading fans to believe it was written as a dig at Keoghan.

She would later acknowledge that the content of her music had led to Keoghan getting “a lot of backlash” when talking to Gayle King on CBS Mornings last September, but said that she thinks “most of the time, [past boyfriends] been pretty flattered when they get a song written about them, good or bad.”

Seemingly referring to the rumours about their relationship that stemmed from ‘Man’s Best Friend’, Keoghan claimed that “a girl made a video” about their relationship, but then made another “video [which] went, ‘Sorry for making that up’,” but despite that, “no one seemed to latch onto” that clarified stance.

As well as the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Keoghan has called for more empathy on social media before, and said on The Louis Theroux Podcast that he is deeply hurt by the comments online claiming that he is an absent father.

He later made a post doubling down on the stance, writing: “Each and every day I work harder to push myself on every level to be the healthiest and strongest person for that boy […] I need you to remember he has to read ALL of this about his father when he is older. Please be respectful to all.”

More recently, he said that comments about his appearance have led to him “not want to go outside”.

The actor is best known for roles in Saltburn, Banshees Of Inisherin, and the new Peaky Blinders film. He is set to play Ringo Starr in the forthcoming four-part biopic film series centring around The Beatles – acting alongside Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
